The team at HMG is working with a customer on a rebrand and new product introduction. In the process, we have recommended social media as part of an overall strategy to establish brand awareness, connect with customers and prospects, and grow engagement.
Not too long ago, having a website was the essential digital platform for achieving marketing objectives and solidifying a company’s legitimacy in their space. Today, the focus is on social media for immediacy of messaging and building community among customers while informing prospects.
But which platforms? Facebook has the highest number of active users in the world and is used by the majority of marketers to reach their target audiences. Next on the list is YouTube which not only hosts videos but now is also a hub for podcasts and other services. Instagram ranks third, another spot for sharing photos and videos. WhatsApp comes in next followed by TikTok which is in the US news for its ownership and related availability being in question due to Congressional action. While not in the top five, LinkedIN has a more business-oriented audience and relevance.
So what does having social media do for you? It keeps your brand visible, provides an avenue for customer interaction, lets you build community, generates leads, connects to your website, and can make your company more personal with staff interaction.
There’s no panacea for a social media strategy. Options and opportunities are almost endless. However, planned, targeted, and regular social media engagement brings far greater benefits than remaining dark on these platforms. Plan, engage, and plan some more. Find your own vibe and rhythm for social media marketing. We’re happy to help!

Heartland Marketing Group was founded 42 years ago and we enter this new year full of excitement for the opportunity to tell our customers’ stories.
Silk, steel, and jasper are the traditional gifts for celebrating 42nd anniversaries. Silk is both gorgeous and strong, steel provides structure and a platform for growth, and jasper can be taken from its raw state to an exquisite level of polish and shine. Fitting for HMG, don’t you agree?
Thank you to our customers, friends, and colleagues across the sphere of agricultural communications for your support and encouragement! Cheers to a new year!
