SEPTEMBER 2024 HEARTBEAT

REMEMBERING GREG CAMPBELL

With sadness and sympathy, we share the loss of Barb’s brother, Greg Campbell. Please find his obituary and service information here.

We remember Greg as a caring, consistent, and important part of Barb’s life as well as a man who prioritized family, worked hard, and enjoyed life. When visiting the Determans, Greg would also stop at HMG to see the team. It was always fun to visit with him, hear about his family, the farm, and his adventures. He will be missed.

The team at HMG is covering for Barb this week as she spends time with family as they take this difficult journey of saying goodbye. Your support, prayers, and encouragement for Barb, her family, and the Campbells is appreciated.

GET THE MOST FROM EVENTS

In this post-pandemic world, gathering for events including tradeshows has resumed. The pandemic pause reignited the culture’s desire to be engaged though most of these events have been changed, mostly for the better. What we see more than ever is the need to maximize your investment in time, money, and people when you sign up for an event. Here are a few notes!

Less is more. Don’t tell your entire story on your displays.

  •  Emphasize your brand – so people know who you are.

Summarize your value proposition.

  • Don’t make attendees guess or struggle to understand – tell them your why.

Use multiple points of engagement including documents, QR codes, and digital displays as well as your team.

  • Audiences will gravitate to what they are comfortable with.

Attract attention to your space.

  • Light, sound, movement, screens, bright wearables, guest activity in your space, and creative graphics are all ways to stand out from the crowd.

Capture attendees’ information.

  • Make it easy for guests to share their contact information with tablets in kiosks, QR codes so they can use their own devices, along with pen and paper options.

Consider event sponsorships so your brand is part of promotion before, during, and after the show.

  • When considering options, think high visibility, repetition, and ROI.

Be your own megaphone.

  • Send the press release to industry media about what you will be sharing at the show, plan outreach to your customer and prospect lists in multiple formats, and engage with media attending the show.

Be present.

  • Nothing leaves a bad impression like an empty booth, tent, or room.

Your Team HMG has decades of experience in planning and conducting events. Let our team help you make the most of your tradeshow and event.

OH SUMMER - WHERE DID YOU GO?

While the calendar says summer lasts for a few more weeks, Labor Day marks its unofficial end. Most schools have started and routines shift into a different mode. HMG will be closed on Monday, September 2, in observance of Labor Day.

We wish you and yours a great long weekend and look forward to resuming telling our customers’ stories when we return.
