Elon Musk is famous, or perhaps infamous, for his bold moves in business. Most recently, he rebranded Twitter to X. That’s all. Just X. Reminiscent of the musical legend Prince who rebranded himself as simply a symbol (not a name/sound associated), this re-imagining of a social media mainstay is confusing, to say the least.
Brands show and tell the world who we are! Heartland Marketing Group’s name says where we live and work from, what we do, and shares our scope in just three words. Oh, and in 2023, our brand also shares our anniversary and fabulousness!
Brands convey luxury or economy, exuberance or stately demeanor, youthfulness or maturity. When carefully crafted, brands communicate essential messages to customers, prospects, stakeholders, competitors, and observers. Left untended, brands can be messy and lead to anxiety for those same audiences.
Your personal or corporate brand identity deserves investment so what is says, shares, and looks like all form a cohesive base for messaging and accomplishing your mission.
Brand X has always meant something generic, something less than optimal. Don’t be like Elon. Grow, nurture, and maintain your brand as the vibrant element of identity and marketing it is.
We can help!
The team at Heartland Marketing Group, with invaluable assistance from the folks at Websites to Impress, worked with the Ohio Pork Council to develop the nation’s first state-specific foreign animal disease website dashboard. The effort was months in the making as content, design, process, and testing were carried out. OPC’s dashboard was launched in July this year and will have a major roll out during Octoberfest.
In announcing the availability of the dashboard, OPC shared this in their summer Porkline magazine:
“To help our state’s pork industry be better prepared for a costly FAD event in the United States, the Ohio Pork Council has created the nation’s first state-specific one-stop FAD resources site for producers, veterinarians, and government officials. The online tool, which is an interactive dashboard, can be found at www.FADReady.org. Once there, users simply choose which path of information they wish to go down – Pork Producer, Herd Veterinarian, or Ohio Organizations/Officials. From there, only information relevant to that user will be shown as a further choice to select or action to take.
“The site, partially funded through Pork Checkoff, is open and free to use by anyone involved in the Ohio pork industry. (Note: This site is separate from the national site recently announced by the National Pork Board.) The dashboard itself does not collect any information. Any information collected by linked tools and sites such as Secure Pork Supply, AgView or U.S. Swine Health Improvement Plan (US SHIP) have their own data protection measures and questions about those should be directed to their respective contacts.”
The prospect of a devastating foreign animal disease drives industry-wide prevention and preparedness efforts. At HMG, we are proud to be engaged in the process and continue to offer our skills for this important work.
